Silver City Friends of the Library to host book sale

SILVER CITY – Friends of the Silver City Library are planning a holiday bookstore and outdoor book sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 17 in the parking lot of the City of Silver City maintenance yard , at 1510 Market Street, across from Cheyenne Street.

“We have books for everyone on your holiday gift list,” said Barbara Guber, director of FOL Bookstore. “For aficionados of German literature, we recently received a significant donation of German fiction and non-fiction. … We have expanded our selection of children’s books as well as our collections for young adults, science fiction and fantasy. Our New Mexico and Southwest section of the bookstore is updated, as is our assortment of coffee table books.

“And,” she added, “beyond hardcover books, we have vintage LP albums and Great Courses sets, as well as accompanying audiobooks. Our prices on all bookstore items are low so that everyone can find something for that special someone in their life, including themselves.

Outside the bookstore there will be the traditional parking lot sale at $ 2 per bag, offering table volumes ranging from children’s books to reference books, romance novels, classic literature, mysteries , science fiction and westerns. Visitors will receive CRAZY bags they can fill for $ 2, with no limit on the number of bags that can be purchased.

Guest parking is available on the street side only due to space issues in the parking lot. FOL volunteers will be available to help visitors transport their purchases to their cars.

Funds from FOL book sales go to the Silver City Public Library to support its programs and activities.

Book donations can be placed in the Friends of the Library donation bins outside the main door of the Silver City Library. These are located to the right of the library bin for returning library books. For more information regarding donations, contact [email protected] or call 575-538-4940.
