Obituary of Mary Donovan (1960 – 2021) – Bismarck, ND

Mary Helen Donovan, 61, in Bismarck, died on Sunday September 12, 2021 in the ICU of St. Alexius Medical Center along with her children and sister. Christian Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 16 at St. Anne’s Church, 1321 Braman Ave., Bismarck.
Visitations will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck. A vigil will begin at 7 p.m.
Interment will take place Thursday at 2 p.m. at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan.
Mary was born on April 6, 1960 in Mandan to Mike Erhardt and Eva (Geiger) Erhardt. She was brought up and attended school at the Center. After graduating, she moved to Mandan. She met and married Calvin Eisenbraun and moved to Bismarck. They had a son, Kyle, in 1980 and divorced in 1984. Mary began her studies at BSC and, after transferring to Dickinson State University, proudly graduated in English / Drama in 1991. The same year , she married Kevin Donovan and moved to Vernal. , UT. Through her marriage to Kevin, she had two sons from her previous marriage, Brandan and Brady, and they were fortunate enough to have their daughter, Michaela in 1996. Mary moved to Bismarck in 2017 to be closer to her children and grandchildren.
Mary immersed herself completely in all of her interests. She was a lover of literature, from the great classics to modern fiction, she had a book everywhere with her and was known to pass on novels read to the box. As a cook, her kitchen was filled with delicacies ranging from traditional German food for the family on Sundays to decorated cakes, desserts and sweets for events and holidays. She loved cinema and theater, whether it was soap operas, television series, movies or dinner shows. She found joy in crafts including needlework, crochet, diamond art, painting, embroidery and quilting, she showered friends and relatives with lovingly made gifts of her own. hands. Mary was a devout Catholic and participated in all aspects of her faith, directing music, liturgy, Eucharistic ministry, and home study. She enjoyed traveling with Kevin, vacationing abroad, and visiting family across the country.
Mary will be sadly missed by her husband, Kevin Donovan; sons, Kyle (Fall) Eisenbraun, Brandan (Katie) Donovan and Brady (Megan) Donovan; daughter, Michaela (Dylin) Patton; her grandchildren, Alicia, Drake, Wilhelm, Opal, Avery and Harper; and her sister, Kathy Friesz.
She was predeceased by her parents, Mike and Eva; stepfather, Bert Donovan; his brothers, Leonard, Calvin and Jeff; and his sister Lucretia.
